Lifestyle creep is real. As income goes up, so does the spending—but does your peace of mind rise with it? Is your mental state actually improving, or are you still stressed about bills, still watching your account slowly bleed every month?

We weren’t designed to live in survival mode forever. The true aim should be to use your income to reclaim your time—by putting money into assets that pay you, not liabilities that drain you.

Don’t trade long-term freedom for short-term flexes.

Think like an empire builder. Accumulate, invest, and protect your peace.

If you’re in your 20s and feel like you’re not earning enough, struggling to build the life you envisioned, or unsure of your direction—take a breath. You’re exactly where you need to be. Your 20s are a time for exploration, trial and error, and growth. Mistakes are part of the process, not proof of failure. Be kind to yourself, but stay determined. Ask for guidance when you need it, show up consistently, and nail the fundamentals: be on time, be respectful, and be decent to others.

Focus on developing real-world skills, earning relevant certifications, and stacking valuable experiences. These are the building blocks that pay off later.

Once you discover what you’re good at and what excites you, lean into it fully. Understand that financial stability and fulfillment don’t happen overnight—they take patience, hard work, and persistence. Everyone has a different relationship with work—some want a job that supports their life, others find meaning in their career. Both are valid. What matters most is being honest with yourself about your goals and what you’re willing to do to reach them.

Yes, you can build the life you want—but not all at once. Balance often comes after years of effort, sacrifice, and prioritizing long-term wins over short-term comfort. That might mean giving up time, energy, or even relationships in the short term. But if you stay focused and intentional, the rewards can be worth it.

Let go of the need to have it all figured out. Your 20s aren’t about perfection—they’re about progress. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep going.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos argues that in business, making slow decisions can often be more detrimental than making bad ones.

In a rapidly changing environment, the ability to act swiftly can be a significant competitive advantage. While mistakes may occur, they are usually reversible and can serve as valuable learning opportunities. Hesitation, on the other hand, can cause missed opportunities, reduced innovation, and lost market share.

Bezos believes that most decisions should be made with around 70% of the information you wish you had, rather than waiting for full certainty. Waiting too long in pursuit of perfect data can delay progress and stifle momentum. In his view, speed and agility often outweigh the risks associated with imperfect choices, especially in high-growth or innovation-driven industries.

This mindset has shaped Amazon’s culture of experimentation and fast iteration. By encouraging employees to take calculated risks and make timely decisions, the company maintains its adaptability in an ever-evolving marketplace. For Bezos, the cost of delay frequently outweighs the cost of error, making decisiveness a critical business skill.

Kevin O’Leary thinks starting with nothing can be a good thing. When you don’t have money or comfort, you’re more likely to work hard and stay focused. There’s no backup plan, so you push yourself to find a way out.

He believes growing up in a tough situation can build strong habits. It can teach people to be serious, to keep going when things get hard, and to stay hungry for a better life.

Some people agree. They say the pressure to escape a hard life makes you work harder. Others feel it’s not that simple. Not everyone gets the same chances, even if they try just as much. Things like where you live, who helps you, and plain luck can make a difference.

What do you think?

To combat climate change, some scientists have proposed an unconventional idea: painting the world white. This concept, known as increasing Earth’s albedo (its reflectivity), involves painting rooftops, roads, and other large surfaces in light colors—especially white—to reflect more sunlight back into space, thereby reducing the amount of heat absorbed by the planet. The idea is inspired by natural examples, such as ice caps and snowfields, which help cool the Earth by reflecting solar radiation. By artificially boosting reflectivity in urban areas and even deserts, proponents believe this method could help lower global temperatures, buying time while longer-term solutions like reducing greenhouse gas emissions are implemented.

A Japanese researcher made a groundbreaking advancement in medical science by developing a type of artificial blood that could potentially be used for anyone, regardless of blood type. This synthetic blood, created using a combination of artificial platelets and oxygen-carrying components, was designed to work universally, eliminating the need for blood-type matching in emergency transfusions. The innovation emerged from years of work by a team led by scientists at the National Defense Medical College in Japan, who aimed to address shortages in blood supply and improve trauma care in disaster or battlefield scenarios.
